Yes yes, we did that.

I am a little late on this one, but I finally have time to post about last weekend. Some of the things I loved about it:

This Drive

This family

This photographer

This hike
This view

These champs

This face

and this picture...

We weren't down there long, but it was my first time to Zions and I loved it! I am already banking on going back soon!

Guess I should have studied... Oh wait, I did!

Soo.. grades came out today. This is the texting conversation my sister and I just had:
Megan: Have you checked your grades yet?
Madi: ugh I got an A- in marriage and family! I suck at life! How'd you do?
Megan: I am too scared to look. You probably did better than me.
Megan: Umm your better than me. College is depressing.
Madi: I know I'm so depressed!
Megan: Like I'm honestly screwed for life idk what to do with my life.
Madi: Took the words right from me.
Megan: Ugh! I need a social life but I guess BYU doesn't let you!
Madi: Good grades, social life, sleep. You can only pick 2. Welcome to college.
Megan: It's more like you can pick 1 and you still won't get everything done!
Madi: BYU, where your best just isn't good enough.
Megan: plus work, plus cleaning the house. Did I mention church callings?
and a sport, maybe?
Impossibility: I'm a believer.

Great. Weekend.

No my life has not calmed down since school ended. But I have been busy and sleepless because I have been doing things I enjoy more than schoolwork. Why I love Utah? Because I can go snowboarding one day, swimming that night, and hiking in shorts the next day.
Friday my family headed up to Brighton. I love that my family is sweet enough that all 8 of us all go together, some of us on skiis and some of us on snowboards (that's me!). I love that my family is sweet enough to spend time together at all.
The snow was amazing for how warm it was outside. I ended up switching boards with Maci because my boots fit in her bindings and her new boots didn't. I tried to hang with Jordan and Jake and they were pretty patient with me. Maybe they were just entertained watching me fall trying to do everything they do. But it was fun!
From snowboarding I went to our end-of-year lacrosse banquet. We felt somewhat legit because it was held in the cougar room at the stadium. Traffic in Utah County helped me show up an hour late, but I got to see the coaches and seniors get their gifts and awards. Thank you for everything you've done for our team! The seniors will definitely be missed! Gavin picked me up from the banquet and we headed to St. George to meet his family who was already down there.
Instead of trying to cram everything into one post, this will be all for now. I will put pictures and stories up later of our fun little road trip.
I came home on Sunday to see an Easter basket sitting out for me. My family was at church so my siblings had all already gone through theirs. My parents are so great! It doesn't matter how old you are, baskets from the Easter bunny can always put a smile on your face!
We hurried to church then spent the rest of the day working on Jordan's eagle project, sleeping, and extended family home evening... all of this with the Tangled movie and soundtrack on repeat.
Last but not least, I can't post about Easter and say more about the bunny than the real reason we celebrate. I am so grateful that Christ sacrificed for all of us and that I am blessed with the knowledge of the truth. I love that we can celebrate this year round but we do have this weekend to really focus on it more. I love my Savior and I know He lives!

21's a Party

Turned 21 this week and yah apparently I still look like I'm in high school. I'm ok with it. 21 means nothing when you are Mormon. I'm ok with that too.
Crazy week! 4 finals. I took my Marriage and Family test first and did good enough on that. I guess I should be happiest about that one because when it comes to the real world, I'll use what I learned in that class more than anything else. My health psychology final was the hardest test of the class and I didn't do too great, but I didn't do so bad that it will really effect my final grade.
Wednesday I celebrated by taking a 100 question child psychopathology test in the morning. I didn't do as good as I was expecting. Then after 5 more hours of studying for American Heritage I drove up to Salt Lake for another 100 question final. By the end of it, it was hard to even care. I came home feeling like I had just taken the ACT a few times.
I celebrated by going to Olive Garden with some of my family and unwrapping presents. From my parents I got some red toms, a swimsuit, and a really nice silverware set. It wasn't the first hint I had from them that I need to get out of my house! I do really appreciate all the gifts they've given me that are stored away but will come in handy when I'm moved out. Gavin and Maci gave me a teapot :) It is different than the ones I already have, so I am excited to add variety to my collection!

Because my birthday was full of finals, we decided to actually celebrate the next day. So Thursday I got a new drivers license, moved Megan and her roommate out of her apartment, went to the mall, and ate at P.F. Chang's.
I hope it doesn't sound like I'm bummed about any of this haha. I just think it is funny that most people treat 21 like it's a big deal. But really, thank you everyone who helped me through the semester and finals week! All the phone calls, letters, texts, and facebook messages wishing me happy birthday really made my day! and thank you to everyone who helped me celebrate!

""

Ryann: Ooh did you see those boys?!
Me: Nope. That's the difference between me and you.

Coach: First one to 15 wins.
Girls: Why 15?
Coach: Cuz that's what they do in ping-pong.

Morganne: Do you think I am in the love zone with Chewy?

Morganne (To the tune of I believe I can fly): I swear I can fly...

One-liners that won today.

Regular

Here I am entering the home stretch of my junior year of school and lacrosse. Life is crazy. My weekend consisted of leaving for Colorado on Thursday, staying with a family in Golden, seeing the sun, driving home, going to conference, having dinner with my extended family, and playing 3-step-hiding. I have details of it all.
I drove to Colorado with 2 of my coaches, Anna, Brooke, Jordan, and Marie. We talked about cloth diapers (I'm converted!) and my coach's crazy ex-roommates who got her expelled for being seductive. We caravanned with the rest of the team and a suburban broke down just outside of Golden. Luckily, the suburban got to a dealership and Shelby's family helped us out by letting us use their suburban. When we got to our host family's house on Thursday night, the mom said "I have to warn you that we have a pet hamster... but we don't know where it is." I couldn't sleep with the blankets she gave me! But she was awesome and cute and made us crepes for breakfast :)
Friday morning we drove to the hotel in Fort Collins. We changed lanes on the freeway at the same time that a semi was changing into the same lane right next to us. We swerved in and out of a few other lanes to try and avoid the semi and luckily we were all safe. It was so crazy! Brooke has this theory that we all agree with- the only reason we survived was because Marie was in the car. The rest of the ride that day was full of jokes about Chris spearing a deer for us to eat.
We finally got to play in weather that wasn't freezing, but lacrosse was a little disappointing. I didn't get to play as much as I had hoped or expected, and we came home 1-3. We lost to CSU by 1 in overtime, lost to Santa Barbara by 2, lost to CU by 1, then finally had a win against Florida, 14-7. They were all great teams so it helps that we went up in rankings because of our close games and tough schedule. We are now #7!!! A girl on CSU layed on top of Kristin and didn't get called for it so that was definitely frustrating but really funny looking back on it.
I drove home with Chris, Gretchen, Marie, Brooke, and Emily. We played Chris's 'name' game for about an hour to avoid listening to baseball. I accidently kept giving Brooke w's. I doubt that makes sense to anyone, but it was funny at the time. We made the traditional stop to chick-fil-a and talked a lot about Marie's softball team and about how Chris can back us up if any boy treats us badly.
Sunday I went to General Conference with Gavin and Cassie and met Ryann, Newell, Chad, and Felicia there. It was great. I don't know how I had dry eyes through Elder Scott's talk, and I couldn't help but apply Elder Christofferson's whole talk to lacrosse. I can't wait to put all the talks on CD again so I can listen to them more and learn more from them! Oh yah, and church security gave us a ride back to our car after conference!
Then we went to my cousin's house in Saratoga Springs for Austen to be ordained an Elder. We had a delicious dinner and it is always fun catching up with the fam. Somehow Gavin and I ended up playing 3-step-hiding. This deserves its own post so I will put up videos of it soon. We played with my 2 younger brothers and 15 year old cousin...It is a very teenage boy game. So fun though! If you don't know what 3-step-hiding is, look up Hamish and Andy on youtube. I will just end by saying we spent at least half an hour trying to escape a young mormon boy with a car seat in the back of his car.
